---------------------------------------------------

life means nothing and everything at the same time. Your mind/ego is what ascribes meaning to things, and it is what makes you feel like you have some importance in the vast universe. However, you have to give it up to know the meaning of everything, to be one with it without mentally understanding it. There is really no meaning, it just IS.

It is important for people to give up their egos because they are the source of all of mankinds suffering.

go to www.thetruthcontest.com and read "the present" and it will help you along.

---------------------------------------------------

We are all here to learn a lesson, no matter how big or small it is...we don't know what it is untill we die. our souls live on and make out for themselves what we have to learn on our next life, where we will be born, who our parents will be and what we will go through. Everything that happens, happens for a purpose. Yes, even how awful someone's life can be.

There is a God, but it's not one person, if you add all the souls up there, that is God.

It's nothing something that makes good or bad things. We make them. Every awful thing that happens on the planet...God won't help us out. If we have learned our lessons our soul will move on higher up some kind of ladder in the afterlife until is has reached the highest stage and then we won't return but help others up there. For instance, guiding people when they just have died.

It all sounds like crap, and often I have difficulties with it. For instance the fact that we choose our parents... I have a great mother but (a crappy) no father.
My mother can sometimes speak to souls from deceased people and she doesn't know everything about what goes on over there, but found out a lot. She hid this because she is not into those hippie kinda things at all. But she slowly came out with this and people from really far away seek her help. She hears and sees the most unbelievable things so people really know it is true what she is saying. She often says, she wished she didn't have that 'gift'. She wants to be normal and not be bothered by these things. On the other hand it is such a relief for relatives to know that their loved ones are still out there watching over them.

Still we don't quite understand what we are doing here. Neither my mother and I are very 'happy' people and often wondering why all the bad things that happened ...happened.

To me life is a struggle and I think too much.
70% of the world doesn't and usually those are the people who are the happiest because they are either ignorant or just don't know or realize things.

"The meaning of life is to do what makes you happy. One must not feel it is necessary to make others happy, although most people do. You should follow your heart, your dreams, your desires. You do not need to conform, simply live:)"

-Jessie

"The meaning of life is to be as comfortable in your own skin as humanly possible. to find someone who completes you in a way you could never have imagined who not only has always been your best friend, but knows you in ways no one else does and will love all your flaws. to find out the friends you always knew you had will amaze you; in the way they are always there for you and care for you. to realize the people you need in your life and those you can live without. to make new friends and hope they are as reliable and amazing as the friends you have. to love your family; regardless of their quirks and impossibilities, their zaneyness and their ability to annoy you; but who will love you no matter what, because you are their family. to do the simple things in life; enjoy small moments, breathe the fresh air, feel the breeze on your skin, make memories you can laugh about later. to always try and make the best out of things (as hard as it may be). to be the person you want to be, not what others expect of you, because if they don't like you for who you are, then they are not worth your time. to be happy, and loved, and comfortable."

"the meaning of life is to find someone who you love and loves you back, and no matter how far away from each other you are how long it's been since you've seen them, they can make you happy just by thinking of them."

"We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World losers and world forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world forever, it seems.

I went to a talk today, and the speaker told us that life is a slow-acting, incurable sexually transmitted disease that affects everybody and kills 100% of cases. I suppose that that is, in a way, true, if you're going to scientific and cynical, not to mention pessimistic, about it. But struck me was that he was speaking on the truth, and he was obviously convinced that reality and truth as we percieve them are but constructs, things we have invented; that there is no absolute truth.

Well, I have a mother who's written a book on the subject, and I believe firmly that there is absolute truth, and that it's called God. He is the way, the truth and the life, and all of these things are made real because of Him. It's clear to me that He created the universe and everything in it (though I am no Creationist) and for that reason I believe that the purpose of life is to live by His Word as best as we can, to reflect His beauty to the world. The meaning of life is not a scientific one; I do not wish to talk pessimistically of diseases, of death and dying as a more or less continual state of being. I reckon that death is a gateway as opposed to a wall. And life is a journey; sometimes we meander from the true path (some of us spend our lives looking for it, while others live in oblivion, unaware that there is even such a path), and other times we are attuned to God's voice which calls to us eternally. I seek to make music for God, to move and to shake and to live for Him.

Ode

We are the music makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams;
World losers and world forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world forever, it seems.

With wonderful deathless ditties
We build up the world’s great cities,
And out of a fabulous story
We fashion an empire’s glory;
One man with a dream, at pleasure,
Shall go forth and conquer a crown;
And three with a new song’s measure
Can trample an empire down.

We, in the ages lying
In the buried past of the earth,
Built Ninevah with our sighing
And Babel itself with our mirth;
And o’erthrew them with prophesying
To the old of the new world’s worth;
For each age is a dream that is dying,
Or one that is coming to birth.

-Arthur O’Shaugnessy."
